For some time now 3 of HK’s leading Golf Instructors – Mark Smith, Vaughan Mason & Lee Parker have had the dream of opening a Golf Centre where their students could learn more of the game than is possible at the usual driving range.

This dream has finally become a reality with the opening of the The Golf School of Hong Kong at the Whitehead Golf Centre in Ma On Shan.

The Golf School, which is operated independently of the Whitehead Range, has 12 floodlit bays and a purpose built 3500 sqmtr fully grassed short game area, which consists of:

Putting green

Chipping and pitching green allowing shots up to 50 yds long

Bunker

Grass bays for full shots

Shaped fairway area for uneven lies

The facility has been professionally designed and was built by Darren Moseley and Richard Hamilton of Asian Sportsturf Consultants Ltd, a company specializing in golf course construction and turf grass maintenance. It has been built with golf course standard irrigation and drainage systems and grassed with Seashore Paspalum so as to play, look and feel exactly the same as the approach area of a well designed and constructed golf hole.

The School offers a wide choice of classes and programs for individuals and groups at all skill levels from first timers to elite amateurs and professionals, and takes a holistic approach to the learning and playing of the game.

The school curriculum coaches players, appropriate to individual needs and goals, in the technical, mental, strategic, physical and equipment requirements of the game in a balanced and complete program, which allows for long term improvement and life long enjoyment of the game.
